The Joy Dare….Choosing Joy in hard times
On a day when all I can see are the circumstances of my life, the temptation is to run — to wallow in my sorrow, and let it swallow me up.
But my God tells me to turn my eyes upon Him, to look full in his wonderful face, and the things of earth (a.k.a my circumstances) will grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace.
That doesn't mean my circumstances will go away and that things won't be hard–if only it were that easy–it means He will fill my lense moreso than my circumstances, allowing me to lean on him.
I'm linking up today for the JOY Dare…..counting my many blessings, for they're there, even amidst the pain….we must choose to look.
….summer still in the air
….their dirty little toes at the end of a summer day
….a new school year approaching, fresh with possibilities
….flowers, signs of Gods beauty and love
….”mommy, I love you.” how I cherish those words.
….birds singing in the wee hours of the morning
….draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. ~ James 4:8
….a blue-eyed boy who still lets mommy kiss his cheeks
….the innocence of a spunky curly-haired girl who loves to cuddle with mommy
….a weekend of family time
….my man—he holds me up when I can't stand on my own, and he loves me unconditionally
