multitudes on mondays:a posture of surrender
life often bring us twists and turns that we never expected…things happen that we never dreamed or imagined could happen to us.
we’ve often heard of those “other families”, and confidently assumed that those things could never happen to us….
i mean after all, we’ve done all the right things, so there’s NO WAY we could experience such heartache—such loss.
or could we?
but then one day we realize that we are one of ” those” families….all of a sudden we are on the receiving end of the pain, and it seems as though the sorrow will never end.
we pray and we cry out to God to stop the endless pain—we beg him to make the tears stop and to make life “right” once again.
i’ve learned though, that part of the healing comes from the posture that we assume while on our journey…..
a posture of anger and frustration towards God, and an unwillingness to learn and be shaped along the way will only make our heart hurt all the more.
but a posture of brokenness and surrender will bring healing….it will bear the fruit of a faith that will stand the test of time
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
God is faithful, and though the road be hard at times and the pain more than we can bare, He is good and he is always worthy of our trust…..
