ith my youngest being almost 5 now, our weekends have easily become a time of fun and relaxation.

last weekend we decided to take advantage of the beautiful indian summer we were having and took the kids to a forest preserve.

it was so beautiful to be walking through the forest preserve in 80 degree weather, while at the same time observing the beautiful multi-colored leaves.

all around us was evidence of God’s splendor and amazing creativity, and i was in awe of his creation….

and as much as i was in awe of the trees and changing leaves, i found myself in awe of something else.

i was in awe that these kids, this man—they’re all gifts to me— from God.

and though our days may not always be conflict-free or without chaos, we are a family.  and we love each other.

we love each other through the good times and the bad.

we laugh together.  we cry together.  and we do life together.

and i wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.
