embrace the camera…..september 1,2011
oday my oldest daughter did something very brave and daring–with our blessing, of course.
she got a haircut that was totally the opposite extreme of her “normal” haircut.
she got a hair cut that was not only short, but one that is also sassy.
letting her get this hair cut was a huge step for me….seriously. mainly because my oldest daughter can tend to be one that just jumps in without thinking, and does things on a whim.
but last night, as my hubby and i were talking this hair cut over with her, i realized something–my daughter has matured a lot in the past few months. A.L.O.T.
she had thought over every aspect of this cut, from what products she may need to different ways she could possibly style it, to what she’ll say if someone teases her about it, etc…
not only that, but there was absolutely NO attitude towards us as we asked her questions and helped her think it through. she was totally open to our input and agreed that if she were to be tempted to adopt an “attitude of sorts” while rocking this hair style, she would willingly listen to our input regarding that.
we’ve walked through some rocky times with this sweet girl, but God is doing great things in her, in us, and in our relationship with her, and i am so proud to be her mom…..love you, savannah.
