Guess Who’s 4?
I remember that first year after you were born…i remember how much i treasured every feeding, every diaper change, and every newborn snuggle, beacuse i knew that there was a good chance you’d be my last baby.
your second year was anything but calm….once you started walking, you were into EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME. seriously, i couldn’t turn my back on you for 2 seconds without you getting into something. the words heard the most often in our home during that time were, “where’s matthew?” and “matthew, NO!”.
around the time you turned 3, something began to change in you. one day i noticed that you were actually sitting STILL and looking at a book. you began to ask to play with legos or play doh and you would play happily with them while while mommy did school with your sisters and brother.
it was around this time that God helped me to see you with new eyes….He helped me to see your love for life and the way you make everything an adventure. he helped me to see that we can laugh at our mistakes and we can take the time to be silly and love on one another.
I love you so much, my sweet boy, and i thank God for the precious gift of you….
